On behalf of the LHS Athletic Boosters Club Executive Board, I’d like to welcome you to the 2009-2010 SMAC athletic season!

This year the LHS ABC has quite a number of initiatives it hopes to accomplish and is supporting some large endeavors being undertaken by both the general public and school board. So far this year, the Athletic Boosters have:

• fixed the stadium’s sound system
• provided funds to fix the privacy screens on both the stadium, baseball and practice fields
• provided extra incentive to the individual teams
• started additional fundraising efforts for the benefit of the entire athletic program at LHS

The LHS ABC is also seeking to add Directors to our Board in the following areas:

• Membership Director
• Fundraising Director
• Concessions Director
• Media Director

Athletics are an integral part of a child’s development and a key component in instilling confidence, coordination, determination, dedication and loyalty in an athlete. Leonardtown High School has long supported this philosophy and intends to continue this attitude for years to come. The Boosters meet every first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Career Center at the school. All are welcome to attend and members are encouraged to come vote on issues that affect the workings of the organization. We also strongly encourage ALL the community to become a member, not just if you have a student athlete. Friends, grandparents, fans, siblings, teachers and members of the community are strongly recommended to join the Club. You need not have a student athlete at the school to become a member. The purpose of the Club is to provide additional financial support to the Athletic Program which trickles down to affect the entire school.
